The Appalachian Chorale will soon begin its 33rd season and invites all interested singers to attend rehearsals and participate in any or all of three concerts scheduled for the 2008-2009 season:
December 9, 2008: Johann Sebastian Bach’s Magnificat and Dietrich Buxtehude’s Das neugeborne Kindelein
December 14, 2008: Fourth annual Messiah Sing-Along
April 28, 2009: George Frederick Handel’s Messiah, Parts II and III
You don’t audition for this group. Current music director Joby Bell welcomes any and all interested singers.
Rehearsals begin Monday, September 8, and are held every Monday evening during the ASU academic semester, except during official breaks and holidays.
Rehearsals are from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Room 214 of the Broyhill Music Center. Non-ASU students should bring $22 for music that they can keep.
All concerts are presented in ASU’s Broyhill Music Center.
The Appalachian Chorale was founded in 1975 as the University Choral Society. Former music directors include Carroll Stegall, Dennis Johnston, Clinton Parker, Robert Jones, Stephen Hopkins, Brian Bailey and Roosevelt Escalante.
