The Blowing Rock Stage Company spotlights its interns in the fifth annual intern showcase, Mountain Shorts V, on Monday, July 28, at 7:00 p.m.
The 16 students who are immersing themselves this summer in the day-to-day operations of the Blowing Rock Stage Company—from costumes, lights and properties to electrics, carpentry, sound, box office, administration and stage management—soaking up invaluable knowledge and skill sets from the Stage Company’s professional staff and guest artists, now have their chance to shine on stage. The 2008 class of interns performs specially selected scenes of comedy, music and dance, plus some other unique talents.
This year’s Mountain Shorts edition is also a special fundraising event, with funds being allocated to an Intern Housing Program. The 2008 class is Matthew Delaney, Appalachian State University; Jordan E. Fleming, ASU; Alex Genther, ASU; Blake Irvin, ASU; Catherine Ledford, ASU; Amanda McNeice, ASU; Anneliese Moffitt, ASU; Caitie Moss, Lees-McRae College; Kevin Nulph, Elon College; Ashley Poag, ASU; Aaron Scott, Florida Atlantic University; Laura Shillingburg, Davidson College; Shoshana Sims, University of Cumberlands; Alissa Steele, ASU; Ben Williams, ASU; and Stacie Worrell, Gardner-Webb University.
