The Watauga Humane Society will hold its 27th annual Rummage Sale on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, at the Boone National Guard Armory. The sale begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. on both days. All proceeds will be used for the Watauga Humane Society’s operational expenses.
The sale includes a diverse mix of clothes, crafts, furniture, shoes, books, housewares and electronics. Many items are priced at $1 or less.
A section of fine items will also be available, including china and original artwork. After 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, all remaining items will be sold at half price.
Clothes of all types will be available at rock-bottom prices. A large bag of clothes is $3; a small bag is just $1.50.
“[The Watauga Humane Society] is trying to give everyone a break during these hard times,” Dee Dundon, former president of the Watauga Humane Society, said.
Last year, the Humane Society raised nearly $18,000. This year’s goal is to raise $18,000 or to exceed that number.
“The animals are the reason why we work so hard,” Dundon said.
