Having trouble affording a piece of land in the High Country? Forget a broker; try working on your golf game.

Casa Rustica and RedTail Mountain Golf Club are offering a new home site at RedTail Mountain in Mountain City, Tenn. to any golfer who hits a hole in one on a specific hole during the 2nd annual Casa Rustica Charity Golf Tournament at RedTail Mountain Golf Club on Thursday, August 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost to enter the tournament is $400 for a four-person team and $100 for individuals. Register by calling Rick Pedroni, owner of Casa Rustica, at 828-773-3421, or Josh McWhorter, RedTail golf pro, at 423-727-8283.

While the area’s best golfers are vying for a piece of real estate, a local charity will benefit from all the action—the North Carolina Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“We try to do a different charity each year, and this year 100 percent of the proceeds from the tournament are going to fight multiple sclerosis,” explained Pedroni. “We’re donating most of the proceeds to the North Carolina Multiple Sclerosis Society but also are allocating a small percentage to the National MS Society, so people nationally will benefit from it too.”

He always found a way to help people in our community, so we’re trying to give back,” said Pedroni. “And it’s also a good way to get people together—friends, local business people—to have a great time for a good cause. Plus, we love golf. And we really like the people at RedTail Mountain—the managers, the pros—we really clicked. It’s a way for all of us to give back.”

Giving back will be a fun affair at the tournament as golfers arrive between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to register, grab their box lunches and head to the driving range. Entry into the tournament includes lunch and dinner catered by Casa Rustica.

After players are fed and warmed up, tee time is 1:00 p.m. Format is captain’s choice with no handicaps, and mulligan packages will be offered. When every team completes 18 holes, it’s off to the clubhouse for a full dinner from Casa Rustica, an awards ceremony and a raffle.

The first place team receives four $125 gift certificates to the RedTail Mountain Pro Shop, the second place team receives four $75 gift certificates and the third place team receives four $50 gift certificates.

Raffle tickets cost $5 and prizes include an ASU golf bag, a membership to RedTail Mountain Golf Club for the 2009 season, a Daniel Boone Days ticket package, four rounds of golf at Boone Golf Club, a DVD player from Audiovision and multiple gift certificates to local restaurants.

Casa Rustica, RedTail Mountain, Sysco Foods, Coca-Cola, Skyland Distributing Company and R.H. Barringer Distributing Company sponsor the event. Casa Rustica thanks the other local businesses that donated raffle prizes and helped sponsor holes for the event.
