Perpetual Groove Plays Legends February 18
Performing for more than 13 years, Perpetual Groove will once again return to ASU’s Legends on Thursday, February 18.
Looking for a night filled with live music? Head to Legends Music Hall on Thursday, February 18, at 9:00 p.m. and enjoy the musical stylings of Perpetual Groove.
Performing for more than 13 years, Perpetual Groove has hooked fans with their mixed sound of southern rock, funk, jazz and indie rock, paired with a memorable light show.
Rising out of Savannah, Ga. in 2001, the band’s members include Brock Butler on guitar and lead vocals, Adam Perry on bass guitar, Brett Hinton on keyboard and Joe Stickney on drums. Perpetual Groove has toured internationally for more than four years and is now based in Athens, Ga.
The group released their first album, Sweet Oblivious Antidote, in 2003 after their first year touring. The follow up record, All This Everything, was released in 2004. LIVELOVEDIE, the groups’ third record, was released in March of 2007, followed by their most recent album, Heal, in 2008.
Although it has yet to be determined if or who will be the opening act for Perpetual Groove, Randy Kelly, program coordinator at ASU, believes the show will be a hit. “Perpetual Groove has come to perform in Boone about three or four times before, and each year the performance gets better. We keep a good relationship with the band and usually have a full house at Legends, which [can accommodate] up to 1,000 people. Boone seems to really like this band,” said Kelly.
Guests must be age 18 or over and are welcome to bring a six pack with proper ID. Tickets for the show are $10 in advance for students (ASU ID required for entry) and $12 for the public and students at the door.
